Today Alex and Lisa talk with Jane Zarse about her journey to sobriety using the 12-steps through AA.
Jane is an Author & Top Social Media Influencer who was born and raised in Lake Forest, Illinois. She graduated from Boston University on the Dean’s list before acting in New York City and trading in Chicago. She spiraled into alcoholism before joining Alcoholics Anonymous and finding her way back. Sober and Pissed Off is the second book for Zarse. Her first book, Love and Compassion Is My Religion (A Beginner’s Book Into Spirituality), is a guide for finding one’s spiritual self. Zarse’s first book received excellent reviews and gained worldwide attention. She has built an impressive author platform with tens of thousands of people who are in recovery following her on social media and is a top Twitter influencer.

Today Alex and Lisa talk with Darren Taylor, author of Finding Your Sober Bubble about his journey to sobriety, how his upbringing led to excessive drinking and how finding his sober bubble has been the best thing he ever did.
Darren Taylor is an everyday guy with an everyday upbringing and everyday outlook but has an eclectic array of influences. With alcohol orchestrating from a young age and with a lifestyle of ‘work hard, play hard’ eventually it took control, but by understanding emotions and circumstances, and taking the 'best bits' and making them his own was able to kick the booze.
His personal biggest achievement is to graduate from his own university of life, Sober. In October 2019, Darren founded his website and aptly named it.‘ The University of everyday Life’ www.theunioflife.com and with a passion for writing, he now brings his take on life and sobriety through his debut book ‘Finding Your Sober Bubble’ and hopes to help others with his insight, guidance and success story all in one place.
Darren is sober, but very far from boring.

Today Alex and Lisa talk with Lucy Rocca about her journey to sobriety, Soberistas, her books and what helped her to get and stay sober.
Lucy Rocca drank rather too much alcohol for 22 years before finally deciding, back in 2012, that it might be a good idea to not drink any more. Following this momentous lifestyle change, she set up the website soberistas.com for people who had an unhealthy relationship with booze and were looking for non-judgmental support and solidarity in getting and staying alcohol-free. In its first year, Soberistas attracted 20,000 members and now has 65,000 people from all over the world making up its lively community. Lucy has had 5 books published since 2012, all on the topic of quitting drinking, and continues to work as editor and director of the Soberistas website. She is also a life/sober coach, specialising in quitting drinking and rebuilding self-esteem, and offers 1-to-1 online support to people looking for extra help in ditching the drink.
When she isn’t working, Lucy loves running, family time, music, her dogs, cooking and eating newfangled healthy stuff, and watching box sets.

Today Alex and Lisa talk to Jo about her journey to sobriety and how she is healing from sexual trauma. Jo is a co-founder of Bee Sober which has recently merged with The Sober Experiment to create Bee Sober CIC, a valuable source to help people on their journey into sobriety and beyond. Her passion outside of work is the gym, in particular weight lifting and that is where you will find her, surrounded by her gym family at 6am most mornings and again in the evening!
Jo, is a 42-year-old mum of 4 and a newly doting Nanna.
Her first love is floral artistry, as a Freelance florist of 28 years her career in events has been vast, working on high end events with celebrity clients. And managing one of the country’s leading event florists.
More recently she has taken a step back from the fast pace and long hours in events to focus on her new love of all things sober.
Jo is nearing the end of her coaching course to become a fully accredited life coach.
Her dream in the near future is to write a book or 3 about her life journey so far!
And to open a Bee Sober hub. A safe social space for sober people to be creative and socialise.
